A Japanese Chain Manufacturer with a Long History

D.I.D is the motorcycle-chain brand of Daido Kogyo, a Japanese manufacturer whose history began in May 1933 with the establishment of Kokueki Chain Co., Ltd. and the production of bicycle chains. The company adopted the Daido Kogyo name in 1938 and subsequently expanded into motorcycle, automotive, and industrial chain products.did-daido+1

For classic British motorcycle owners, our D.I.D selection provides replacement final-drive chains for the Triumph, Norton, and BSA applications identified in the product listings. D.I.D is a Japanese brand supplying replacement components—not a historical British motorcycle manufacturer.thebonnevilleshop+1

We offer two options of final drive chains for your Brit bike: 530 x 110 and 530 x 120. These are also suitable for Honda, Yamaha and other motorcycles. Top quality D.I.D masterlink, will fit non O-ring 530 chains, always a good idea to keep one on your toolbox and a few in the shop.

Our current collection offers two chain-length options:

  • D.I.D 530 × 110-link final-drive chain — part number TBS-530-110.
  • D.I.D 530 × 120-link final-drive chain — part number TBS-530-120.

The “530” designation identifies the chain size, while “110” and “120” identify the supplied link count. These are separate specifications: choosing the correct chain size does not, by itself, establish the correct length for your motorcycle.

Check your motorcycle’s requirements and the individual product details rather than selecting solely by manufacturer or engine capacity. If the bike has been modified, confirm the chain required for its actual wheel and sprocket configuration.

Our collection also includes a separately listed D.I.D 530 final-drive chain master link under part number TBS-12-0855. A compatible spare connecting link can be a useful addition to your maintenance supplies, but it must match the particular chain fitted to your motorcycle.thebonnevilleshop+1

D.I.D specifies that connecting links are chain-model specific. Differences in dimensions and materials mean that one D.I.D 530 connecting link should not be assumed to fit every D.I.D 530 chain—or another manufacturer’s chain of the same nominal size. Confirm the chain series and connecting-link specification before purchasing.

D.I.D offers several connecting-link designs, including loose-fit clip links, press-fit clip links, and rivet links. Their installation requirements differ: press-fit and rivet links require appropriate tools, while rivet links also require the pin ends to be correctly formed to secure the side plate.didchain

Use the connecting-link type specified for your chain and follow the manufacturer’s installation instructions. Do not choose a replacement solely because it is described as a “530 master link.”
